Would current, up-to-date research give you the cutting edge your business needs to be more competitive?
We can help.
We support the placement of researchers from universities or public research agencies into businesses, to help develop and implement a new idea with commercial potential.
We will provide you with funding for up to 50 per cent of salary costs, to a maximum of $50,000, for each placement for between 2 and 12 months.
Our aim is to:
- help break down the cultural divide between business and the research sector
- speed up the distribution of knowledge and expertise
- accelerate the adoption of new ideas and technologies
- increase competitiveness in business
Facilitators
Our Facilitators offer:
- Facilitation in inter-firm collaboration, cluster development and supply chain relationships
- Show businesses and the braoder community how innovation can help local regions
- Assist and help local businesses access Enterprise Connect services and other industry programs to increase entrepreneurial capacity
When we receive your application form, we will match a Facilitator to your business. If you are already in contact with a specific Facilitator on our team, that Facilitator will be allocated to your project if possible.
The following documents will assist you in completing your Researchers in Business Grant (RiB) application:
Client Guidelines
Apply for a RiB grant
Sample Deed of Grant
If you are successful you will be required to sign a deed of grant. The deed is a legal contract between the applicant (either the business or the research organisation) and the Commonwealth which sets out the responsibilities of both parties.
Placement Contract
Successful parties will be required to enter into a placement contract with the research organisation. A generic template is available to assist firms in brokering these arrangements with the research organisation.
Report templates
If you are involved in the RiB project, you will be required to report on its outcomes.
A progress report is due halfway through and at the completion of the project. A final report is due from the businesses and the researchers as set out in the deed of grant. Information contained in the reports will be treated as commercial-in-confidence and will assist in the evaluation of Enterprise Connect services.
Additional Resources
A program fact sheet is available if you would like more detailed information about the program.
