Background:
Richard has over 35 years domestic and international experience in industrial marketing, general management and management consulting in the steel, construction, agricultural equipment and transport sectors. He also has extensive private and public sector exposure, and has worked closely with small and medium size enterprises (SMEs).
Richard has 22 years working experience in the steel industry with BHP Steel, and Palmer Tube Mills, including four years with Austoft Industries (manufacturers of equipment for the sugar industry).
Richard gained significant transport exposure after five years with the Port of Brisbane Corporation as General Manager Business Development. He has also owned and operated his own small business (a retail plant nursery), followed-by three years management consulting to SMEs.
Richard is a Federal Councillor and Queensland State Chapter Treasurer of the Institute of Management Consultants.
Qualifications:
Richard has a degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Queensland, and he is a Graduate of the Mount Eliza Advanced Management and Senior Management Programmes.
