Background:
Mick has held a variety of positions in a number of industries including eight years of naval service, six years in forestry process supervision,
ten years as Managing Director of an engineering business, ten years as Plant Manager of a corporate engineering and manufacturing facility and finally a
national sales role in the water industry before joining Australian Industry Group in 2011.
Mick spent most of his working career in Tasmania, though his business experience has taken him to many parts of the world. He has worked
in Papua New Guinea and had import and export dealings with many countries in the Pacific region and further afield.
During his time in the manufacturing sector, Mick had responsibility across all areas including financial management, operational,
human resources, sales, and occupational health and safety. He was exposed to lean manufacturing, including Six Sigma Blue Belt training,
international financial and governance requirements, as well as company restructuring and integration.
Whilst working full time, Mick completed his MBA including two overseas residential units specialising in trade relations with Asia.
Mick has a passion for small business and enjoys the opportunity to work with Tasmanian enterprises to grow and develop further.
Qualifications:
Mick holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Diploma in Applied Science and is a qualified Category B Hydrographer.
