Background:
Prior to joining Enterprise Connect, Greg ran his own small to medium enterprise (SME) consultancy for nearly 10 years. In this time, he consulted to companies across a wide range of industries, including renewable energy, environmental technologies, engineering, local government, software, online applications, telecoms infrastructure, telecoms services, industrial products, direct marketing and sporting equipment. The consultancy was actively involved in working with clients to commercialise new technologies, products and services. As part of this process, Greg regularly undertook financial feasibility assessments of alternative business models through the design and construction of a wide range of customised technical and financial models, and routinely assisted SME clients to develop business plans and commercialisation pathways.
Throughout this time, Greg also helped many client companies to access grants offered by both the Australian and Queensland governments. He also regularly participated as a mentor in the Queensland government’s small business mentoring program.
Prior to establishing his consultancy practice, Greg had held senior commercial positions for nearly 10 years as Corporate Taxation Manager with a number of public companies, including two listed Australian companies. One of these was one of the largest property development, investment and construction companies in Australia, with assets in excess of $1 billion. The other, which had a turnover in excess of $1 billion, was at that stage part of the ICI global group and was (and remains) one of the major global players in the industrial and agricultural chemicals markets, as well as a major supplier of explosives to the mining industry. Greg also held an appointment as Manager - Taxation Policy with the Australian subsidiary of a major Japanese property development and investment company.
