Background:
Prior to joining VECCI and the Victorian Enterprise Connect Manufacturing Centre, Dan gained extensive business management and consulting experience working closely with senior executives, boards and/or business owners in leading organisations across a wide range of industry sectors.
After qualifying as a mechanical engineer, Dan spent the first decade of his career as a manufacturing engineer. After completing an MBA, he broadened his experience and skills by successively working as a marketing manager for a hi-tech company and as a Principal Consultant with KPMG Consulting in the areas of business strategy and operational improvement.
More recently, Dan has held senior roles in leading membership and not-for-profit organisations such as RACV and CEDA. Dan has also managed his own management consulting business.
Dan brings to the Enterprise Connect Manufacturing Centre team his extensive experience working with SMEs and “middle market” businesses in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. His specific areas of expertise include:
- business strategy &execution;
- business planning in the SME sector;
- operational improvement [inc. lean manufacturing] ;
Dan has the ability to work with SME businesses to achieve greater levels of efficiency, effectiveness and improved business performance.
He understands the perspective of the business owner having previously been a shareholder and director of a small manufacturing business himself.
Qualifications:
Dan has a Bachelor of Engineering and Master Business Administration (both from Monash University). He has also completed a Company Directors Course (AICD) and numerous professional development courses.
