Background:
Brian has extensive experience in a number of industries and has received recognition for his achievements in: forestry; sales and service in the marine industry; chemical and pharmaceutical R & D; agriculture/ dairy industry management; financial counselling, and financial planning for both Rabobank and CBA.
Brian’s knowledge of the issues facing regional enterprises and his ability to collaboratively implement innovative solutions were acknowledged when his team was chosen to receive the Best State Chamber of Commerce Award during his Presidency. Brian has a keen interest and a long track record of success in supporting regional businesses to identify opportunities to expand markets, innovate; increase productivity, efficiency and bottom line profits.
In addition to his community involvement in the business sector, Brian is a current director of a company in North West NSW with a turnover exceeding $3 million and employing ten staff. This company has undergone significant expansion since its inception in 1990 and continues to develop in-line with the concepts of continual business improvement to deliver productivity and efficiency gains which drive bottom-line performance.
In summary, Brian has hands-on experience relating to issues involving staffing, product development, production, business planning and analysis, customer servicing and finance.
Over many years, Brian has demonstrated his ability to review and support individuals and organisations through processes to deliver positive change.
Qualifications:
Brian has a Bachelor of Science with a chemistry major from Sydney University and diplomas in community service and financial planning. He is trained in the development of systems and processes for Continual Business Improvement; including the use of Lean Methodology, Process Mapping and benchmarking tools such as Winning Measures; and Comparison International’s Probe Microscope.
