Background:
Aleksandar posses twenty years international business experience gained in banking, finance, IT and economic development jobs. His career started with United Airlines in Sydney, where he was responsible for the overall analytical reporting and business intelligence gathering. His professional engagement continued in Westpac Banking Corporation’s head-office in Sydney, where he was initially involved in a large change management project and later worked as Manager Costing and Information Analysis. He held several positions in different functional areas of the bank and was responsible for the capital adequacy reporting (Basel Capital Accord) to the Reserve bank of Australia and several strategic projects, such as introduction of the Balanced Scorecard, Dynamic Risk Monitoring, New Lending system and Knowledge Management architecture.
Aleksandar gained international exposure with Deloitte&Touche in Central Europe working as a Director responsible for business development within Financial Institutions domain across the region of eighteen countries.
He performed several management contracts, M&A mandates and has built a cornerstone for the German and Austrian banks subsidiaries operating in Central and Eastern Europe. He was a country Director for Raiffeisen Investments, Member of the Board and CFO of the HVB Bank subsidiary, part of Bank Austria Creditanstalt, Vienna and senior advisor to KPMG Barents, Washington. His scope of duties also involved controlling, fraud prevention and anti money-laundering activities. Aleksandar’s most recent role was consulting for the IFC/World Bank providing investment, risk management and development advice to manufacturing companies under the social responsibility programme.
Qualifications:
Aleksandar has a BEc; he is Certified Business Continuity Management professional in the UK and is undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in International Risk Management. He has also completed a Financial Derivatives program and is multilingual.
