The Enterprise Connect Manufacturing Network supports Australian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) facing a rapidly changing business environment. Manufacturing SMEs need new skills, technologies and business strategies to remain competitive both at home, and globally. In turn, businesses will apply this knowledge and technology to build their internal capacity which will help them to become more innovative, efficient and competitive and lift productivity across Australian industry.
The Enterprise Connect Manufacturing Network will make it easy for SMEs to source and finance specialist advice, know-how, and technologies to improve their business performance.
The core services offered by each Manufacturing Centre include:
- Business Review conducted for free by one of our Business Advisers.
- Tailored Advisory Service provides funding to implement actions identified in the Business Review.
- Researchers in Business offers the placement of researchers from universities or public research agencies into businesses to help develop and implement new commercial ideas.
The Manufacturing Network has centres located in Sydney (NSW), Dandenong (VIC), Mawson Lakes (SA), Perth (WA), Burnie (TAS) as well as QMI Solutions in Brisbane (QLD). 50 Business Advisers located in metropolitan and regional Australia ensure that services can be delivered to eligible firms nationwide.
An interim Manufacturing Centres Advisory Board has been established to assist with the implementation of the Manufacturing Network. The Board is chaired by Mr Jim Walker AM, CEO of QMI Solutions. The Board will provide advice on the Network's operating philosophy, vision, the delivery of services as well as practical matters such as industry intelligence and marketing of the network.
